Homesick

Written by Alfian Sa'at

Directed by Peter Zazzali

Homesick was first performed by W!LD RICE for the Singapore Theatre Festival in 2006. A domestic drama in the richest sense, it addresses cultural identity and invites the audience to consider the meaning of belonging in modern-day Singapore. Set during the SARS outbreak of 2003, the Koh family navigates a 'homecoming' in the context of an unexpected quarantine. See how they learn about themselves, one another, and what it means to be Singaporean. Featuring Level 2 students from BA(Hons) Acting, in collaboration with students from the Diploma in Audio Production as well as the Diploma in Theatre Production and Management programmes.

Directed by Shreela Argawal

Ram, an illegal Indian-Muslim immigrant who survives by working odd jobs in Singapore is forced to face the dilemma of risking to care for Thanh, a helpless young Indonesian illegal immigrant, or continue to live his life with the burden of this child’s future.
